6 Sure Fire Ways To End Up In Adultery
1. Focus on the faults of your spouse, and criticize them to others – This sets you up to see your spouse as a barrier to your happiness; and as an enemy.
2. Confide in, and seek comfort from, someone of the opposite sex about your marital problems – This allows you to receive sympathy for your situation; and it opens you up to be emotionally connected.
3. Spend time alone with someone of the opposite sex – This keeps you from being accountable; and provides opportunity for physical affection.
4. Fantasize about sexual things, watch pornography and sensual videos and movies – This directs your physical desire away from your spouse; and causes lust to control your actions.
5. Avoid any spiritual activities; such as prayer, Bible reading, and church attendance – This frees your flesh to quench the Spirit’s convicting guidance; and it allows you to justify your situation as being special.
6. Convince yourself that you were not really in love with your spouse anyway, and that God understands – This completes the full circle of sin’s deception, and opens the door to great heartache.
